The Construction team for a commercial store space renovation project in Oshawa needed a durable sub-floor leveling product to prepare the floor for the new tenant. Product Specialists of Innocon and Lafarge along with an Agilia ™ Screed A Contractor met the team to propose a solution for what is now a completely transformed Dollar Store.

A leveling solution was necessary because the existing slab on grade had uneven areas from previous renovations and areas that had been prepared for different floor coverings as well as areas of cut-outs for service conduits and duct work. Commercial building renovations like this one often require a topping or floor leveling product be applied to the slab.

Agilia Screed A was the perfect floor leveling solution for this project. The product was placed to cover the uneven floor and prepare it to a tolerance to receive the final floor covering. The average thickness of the material was placed at 30 to 40 mm, dependent on the variations in the floor area.

Pumped directly onto the existing floor slab, this unbonded application only required a polythene sheet and pothythene foam strips around perimeter walls and vertical elements to prepare the slab before placing the Agilia Screed A. The placement is a simple method of pumping the Screed into place and barring the fluid material for a smooth surface finish.

Even more impressive, the 10,500 sq ft. of commercial floor space was poured in only a few hours, exceeding the expectations of the project team. This floor space can now receive the final floor finishing material.
